RETHINKING MACHINERY
TO MAKE WORK EASIER

The aim is to make machinery that gets the job done the way the user wants. Machinery has to be easy to use and easy to maintain. It has to make the job easier. That’s why we work hard and spend years researching and rethinking machinery. The demands and pressures of the modern work world are different. Our Machinery has to be too.

How it Works

RESEARCH

This is when we listen and learn.

The best solutions have to know what problem they are solving.

Through our sister company, Allways Hire, we’ve been running what might be the longest equipment research programme in New Zealand.  Every hire is an opportunity to listen and learn from users, to understand their frustrations with traditional machinery and to ask questions and build up a clear picture of how they really want to use the machinery.  These are the little (and big) things old-fashioned research misses because it removes response bias, and the informal nature of our approach allows for honest and unfiltered feedback.

The Industry

INNOVATION

This is when we rethink and re-engineer solutions.

The next step is to work on features and improvements that meet what customers have told us they really want. It’s the little things that make a big difference - like the intuitive controls on the wireless remote for the HydroMaster that make using the machine easy even for inexperienced users. And it's definitely the big things - like developing the HydroMaster to a skid frame so it's not reliant on a particular vehicle.

TESTED AND RE-TESTED

After the Research and Innovation stages comes testing. The best way to do this is not in some artificial testing environment, it’s on real job sites where the machinery can be put to work exactly how it’ll be used. To do this, the relationship between Master Machinery and Allways Hire is such that they put the machinery to work on proper job sites, so we can collect feedback and make adjustments. Then, and only then, do we release and offer new machinery for sale.
